What is happening to me?

I am very much NOT in my virgo-self these days. Don’t know what provoked it. May be the Chinese medicine, may be the acupuncture needle poking, which I badly needed? Or may be even the weather? Anyway I am amazed at my new and odd behavior.

First, I stopped worrying about saving everything I earn. I can guarantee that I was the stingiest person in this planet. I am the one who is always on the look-out for “offers”, “coupons”, “sales” and “half-price” (or even quarter-price!). But now a days, I don’t mind... I really don’t mind. My thought process has suddenly changed to “what if I buy nice and costly things for a change?. After all I can only enjoy that as long as I live!”

And then suddenly I am surprised at my own voice, urging me to “live” rather than to “save”.

Now, I was never a cosmetic-addicted person. I have only ONE foundation, ONE perfume, ONE mascara and ONE eyeliner. And everything will be under 5 Euro, if possible! When that ONE finishes, I will buy another.....only then!

But now, I have found myself non-hesitant in buying everything more than ONE. I really don’t mind if I have anything TWO or may be even THREE. So, I have three perfumes (which I never had in my life!). And the funniest thing – I don’t care... What if I spend 50 euros for that? I deserve to be happy, is what I feel! I don’t feel obliged to save three-quarter of my salary!

And another thing, I have stopped eating left-overs. I got that habit from my mom. She used to eat all the old food so that it is not wasted and the result – the worst "irritable bowel syndrome", which can happen to anyone!! But now, I don’t hesitate in throwing away left-overs. NO… it’s not worthy eating all those…I deserve good food! Nothing is more important than my stomach! LOL… when did I start thinking like that?

And the best of all… I have stopped worrying- well almost. I don’t mind if the clothes are in washing machine for more than a day. I don’t mind, if dirty dishes are in sink for more than half a day! And I try my level best not to pick single strands of my hair from floor, every time i see it.

And in office, my work list is getting longer and I am not tensed. I don’t feel that I MUST finish everything within a day or two. I will do it, easily… no pressure.

God! What is happening to me?

Is there anything terrible in that Chinese tea, I am drinking?

  10. LOL Swathi, Its a good change, no use stressing over everyday stuff. You could avoid wasting food by cooking a little less than normal. Learning to treat yourself well is a good sign. Go with the flow. Now to the annoying side of me- You are getting the Hang of Living and now you "worry" that something is wrong with the Virgo you? You still worry dont you?(giggling)

  14. You know in part this change is good... esp about not eating leftovers and kind of splurging on yourself. You know sometimes even we virgoes need pampering. I always had half a dozen perfumes and lipsticks... Come on, if not now then when? But just strike a balance between the two. Don't overdo any one side! And about not worrying much, way to go, I let go about worrying my ohuse when I had kids. Phew!!

Good luck with the ongoing treatment. Hope it is effective and gives results soon. Hats off to you for following it so well

    Take care,

    Sabiha

  20. Swati,
Glad to know u're a Virgo too....like moi. Read my follow up blog on un-Virgo like behavior.

  21. oh yes, u r correct may be bit costly..well incase u have bought coolwater...it gets exhausted fast... may be chanel can come a bit longer..well if u put 10 ml per day of coolwater, ha buy chanel and put 5 ml per day. the effect may be the same..
plus if we overspend in one thing and may be u can cut down on anyother thing...
ultimately its our priority. i just conveyed my strategy....

oh dont think that i am working for chanel.. but i still feel u shuld try it out once.. and after that u would find that ur hubby will buy even before u ask...

  22. hehe....
i just hope u still have the 'i-feel-damn-good' factor working in full speed....

this reminds me.... have u tried green tea?...if u have....let me know how it tastes:)

  24. Hei Swathi.

Hmm... I think that you have 'mentally' arrived in the west with your thinking and RT
    - would you agree?!!
Take care and do keep so well.
    Rii xx

    PS.
I do not keep more than one mascara - Rimmel Extra Super Lashes Black/Black -- sells at about 6€ in Finland - at a time, perhaps a perfum or two and so on. No point as one can only use one of each product at the time.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yes..Rii, u r absolutely correct...
    >>that you have 'mentally' arrived in the west << i have mentally arrived in the west, finally after physically arriving here 2 yrs back!

and yes, as you have said, we can use only one product at a time!! but I guess, women cant resist buying more than they can use...

    ReplyDelete
  26. can you please send me the tea ? i am sure i could use a change in attitude.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hei Swathi.

I have tons of clothes, shoes etc., but only ONE mascara and perfum!!
Makes a freak Western woman, eh?!!
    HEHE
    HUGZ from Rii xx

    PS.
Been practically 'living' in your page today - notice it?! Back n forth like a yo-yo...
Made me forget the tummyache and it has been such fun. THANK YOU for these most marvellous entries, Gal.
